HAVE YOU SEEN
THE BIG MOUTH
We launched The Big Mouth this year as a platform for our young people to express their creativity. On this channel, organisations and individuals anywhere in the world can access and benefit from our work – through our podcasts, films, theatre productions and documentaries created by our members.
The Big
Work
The Big House works with young people who have been through the care system and are finding life difficult. We provide a platform for them to participate in the making of theatre and to have their voices heard.

WE’RE PUBLISHED
With a foreword by Jez Butterworth and an intro by Maggie Norris, The Big House Anthology journeys through five original plays. This collection celebrates the diverse talents and experiences of our membership, and hopes to inspire storytellers, educators, and students.

CREATIVE INDUSTRY MENTORING
The Big House’s ‘OG Partnership’ is a fully-funded mentoring programme designed to mobilise the next generation of creatives and push for an inclusive industry. Young people and creative industry professionals learn from each other, develop professional networks and work towards career goals.

"The work it is as powerful, as visceral, funny, and inspired as the best theatre I’ve seen. It’s immediate, present, blisteringly committed and real. It certainly wipes the floor with anything I’ve seen at The Royal Court over the same period!Long Live The Big House!"
Jez Butterworth Playwright, in the Foreword to our Anthology"I'm convinced The Big House is plugged into the community in a way that other charities are not. A genuine life transformer, helping the lost to locate a path and stick to it."
Sir Lenny Henry CBE"I was totally bowled over by last night's performance. I have worked in child protection for over 10 years dealing with some of the most distressing issues, however not often have I felt so emotionally moved by young people's circumstances. I was so impressed by their tenacity and talent."
Sophie Humphreys Director of the Pause Project and Professional Advisor to Safeguarding Children Board at Hackney Council“If Dickens were around now, he would surely be writing for The Big House…”
Susannah Clapp The Observer"I was blown away last night by Bullet Tongue, a truth-heavy theatre piece on London's gang culture, the London so many of us don't see. I'd encourage any policy makers who work in issues around young people/drugs/violence to see it . It will stay with me forever."
