Our workshops employ exceptional young people that have experience of the care system, or are at high risk of social exclusion, and have successfully been through our Open House Project. Through The Big House Means Business, we harness the learning of our members to expand the perspective of your teams and encourage trust, collaboration and effective working.
This work has taken us to countless organisations across the country and abroad. Our young people have trained 2,000 social workers, The Met Police, the Ministry of Justice, the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office and the Department for Work and Pensions, amongst many others.
There is so much to learn from the voices and performances of these extraordinary young people who have gone from the margins of society to centre stage. Using our unique toolkit of live performances, original films, powerful discussions and immersive drama exercises, we offer a range of workshops with lasting impact.

VENUE HIRE

The Essex Road Islington
Set back from the street with its own cobbled courtyard, we live in a beautiful venue with original industrial features. By hiring space with us, you will be directly contributing to our pioneering creative projects which transform the lives of care leavers and marginalised young people. SPACES
FANCY A STINT INSIDE?
Our beautiful N1 Islington home is made up of 10 spaces of varying sizes, that hold traces of the building’s industrial past. From the light-filled, airy Tower, to the intimacy of the cosy Library, each room of this converted frame factory has a distinctive character.
SLAMMER
The Slammer is an open plan industrial space for events, filming, photoshoots and pop-up events. It has private access, storage and an outside space. Full of exposed brick work, copper piping & industrial features of a renovated factory in Islington. 132 sq/m (2390 sq/ft).
CARAVAN
The Caravan is ideal for catered events, workshops and larger meetings. It can also be used as an easy extension to The Slammer. An attached kitchen, private bathroom and entrance onto our lantern lit courtyard make it perfect for dinner parties. 57 sq/m (614 sq/ft).
TOWER
The Tower is a light, airy space on the first floor of The Big House with high ceilings, white walls and a large arched window overlooking the courtyard. A perfect space for rehearsals, workshops, readings and castings as well as photo shoots and launch events. 63 sq/m (678 sq/ft).
LIBRARY
The Library is a stylish, cosy room with reclaimed bookcases, teak sofas, mood lighting and a long view of the courtyard. It is ideal for small meetings, or as a relaxing breakout space.
