The Library Series

We’re four sessions in!

That’s three discussion groups and one Q&A with the bold and brilliant James Meteyard (Electrolyte, TBH’s Redemption). Together we’ve built an atmosphere of warmth and creativity, and the writers are many steps further along in their projects.

Some of us have experienced the thrill of hearing our work breathed into life by others’ voices.

Some of us have conjured up new endings, new beginnings, new characters, and new strange symbolic pets.

Some of us have had our ideas challenged, been provoked to resculpt and clarify. (As it says in our group agreement “HONEST AND CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, NO SIMON COWELL”)

All of us have felt a part of a supportive and nurturing group of peers.

All of us have been brave. It’s not easy to lay out your inner workings on a communal table.

Next session, we look forward to being joined by Tony Grounds (Our Girl, Births, Marriages, And Deaths) for our second Q&A. And then onwards!

Many thanks to Tobi King Bakare for his continued flair as co-facilitator. And also to DeBeauvoir Deli, Paradise Greens, and Trade for their generous and delicious donations.
