The Big House Hits the West End

Playwright Jez Butterworth came to our recent production of PHOENIX and loved it. He described the play as “Visceral storytelling. Shot through with moments of pure theatre, graced with vivid, moving performances by an excellent young cast. A stirring opening statement from this exciting new theatre group.” To congratulate the cast on doing such a fantastic job, he has given The Big House 10 tickets to see his play Mojo in London’s West End.

Mojo, winner of the Olivier award for Best New Comedy, reunites two of British theatre’s great collaborators; writer Jez Butterworth and director Ian Rickson who, as well as the original production of Mojo, gave us the multi award-winning, hit sensation Jerusalem and the critically acclaimed The River. Ian Rickson is also fresh from other successes including Old Times and Betrayal. Set against the fledgling rock ‘n’ roll scene of 50s Soho, this savagely funny play delves into the sleazy underworld and power games of London’s most infamous district.

We’re really looking forward to seeing Mojo, and possibly going backstage! Watch this space…
