This year The Big House turns 10 and we intend to party!

January has got off to a buzzing start as our young people return to the building. We welcomed new faces to The Big House in our first Introductory Workshop of the year and the countdown to our Spring Open House Project has now begun with the return of the Drop Ins from the 10th of February.

We are excited to announce the launch of ‘HOT HOUSE: The Library Series’.

The project offers young writers (early-stage or experienced) the chance to come together to share work and ideas. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their work in a pressure-free environment, build confidence and engage in a community of writers.

Another focus for The Big House this year is our new digital venture – The Big Mouth. The platform will offer a chance for organisations and individuals, anywhere in the UK to access and benefit from our work. Next month we will begin the recruitment process internally for a member to take on the role of The Big Mouth Coordinator so that we can be sure we are always led by the voices of young people.
