Last night The Big House were incredibly proud to attend the cast and crew screening of PRU alongside TBH member and star of the new series, Nkechi Simms.
The event took place at Curzon, Bloomsbury and included a Q&A with cast and crew, hosted by Remel London.
PRU is told through the eyes of four gloriously reckless young people who can’t help but say the unsayable and do the undoable.
Nkechi plays the part of Sienna.
“I play a young girl who I’d say is misunderstood but very well intentioned, feisty and honest” Nkechi says, “she rocks up to her first day at PRU and causes a bit of a madness from the jump to be honest. It’s been an honour to play her because I can really relate to being misunderstood, misjudged and written off in the way that my character is at the beginning. She starts off a bit disconnected and she grows to really love everybody and everybody grows to love her.”
Nkechi first stepped into The Big House in 2019. The following year, she joined our autumn project and starred in The Ballad of Corona V. Shortly after, she landed a part in Netflix’s Top Boy making her television debut before joining the cast of PRU.
“Start to finish it [PRU] was hands down the best experience of my life. It’s a job that I’ll remember until I’m old and grey. It was the hard with long hours, shooting weekends and all of that stuff but that I’d say out of all the jobs I’ve ever done and all the things I’ve ever experienced, it’s something that I’ve grown the most from and that made me feel the best about myself, about my life, about the world. The PRU Crew as we call ourselves, that was the best time ever. I never wanted to leave that bubble.”
Keep an eye our for Nkechi in PRU coming soon to BBC Three and iPlayer.
We can’t wait to see the full series!
You can also catch Nkechi in Mission at The Big House from 11th May – 4th June. Tickets are on sale now.
